BOLD is an international organization and an arts-based movement working to inspire communities to create childbirth choices that work for mothers. BOLD runs three core programs: Performances and Talkbacks, BOLD Red Tents and the BOLD College Campaign.

BOLD celebrates women-centered birth, honors diversity, and creates spaces for a women to make empowered choices about her birth experience. BOLD inspires communities around the world to create a new women-centered global culture around birth through education, truth and action. Each year, BOLD in Austin stages a local production of the play Birth, written by BOLD founder Karen Brody, followed by an audience Talkback. We also produce Red Tents—an intimate space for Austin women to share their birth stories—film screenings and workshops. In 2009, our goal is to launch a local program to raise awareness at the college level.
